Anameka Farms operates a mixed cropping and sheep enterprise across 14,374 hectares between Tammin and Kellerberrin in Western Australia’s 275 to 325 mm rainfall zone. The project is registered under the ACCU Scheme as ERF206214 and uses the 2021 soil organic carbon measurement and models method to increase soil carbon through eligible land management activities. The farm has 9,530 hectares registered as soil carbon Emissions Abatement Areas, with a 25-year land management strategy focused on compaction, sodicity, shallow profiles, low soil organic carbon, salinity, and erosion risk.
The project aims to increase soil organic carbon and improve soil function across the 9,530 ha of CEAs through practices such as stubble retention, intercropping, cover crops, legumes, and targeted amendments and soil work, as required. The Cost-Benefit Report models 480,967 to 1,731,480 ACCUs over 25 years under scenario assumptions. The strategy also supports longer-term business resilience and succession planning by adding a new income line tied to measured land improvement.
