The 2025 Forum will convene senior leaders from government, finance, and industry to strengthen Asia–Pacific carbon markets, accelerate investment, and advance the region’s net zero transition.
With carbon markets on the rise across the region, the Forum will explore market dynamics and future outlooks, the role of removals, reductions and avoidance, and the implications of international pricing mechanisms such as CBAM, Article 6, and CORSIA. Sessions will also spotlight technological innovation driving market progress, the growing importance of nature-based solutions, and how to turn climate ambition into investable action.
Through keynotes, plenaries, and networking, the Forum connects investors, policymakers, project developers, and corporate leaders to showcase opportunities, share insights, and chart regional pathways towards net zero.

Provocation: Making carbon markets work better

Fireside chat | Building trust in carbon markets: Why regulatory frameworks matter

Clear and consistent policy direction is key to market confidence. This conversation will explore how government action and industry standards can help unlock investment, enhance market integrity, and scale up carbon projects aligned with national and global climate goals. Speakers will reflect on recent calls for stronger government leadership and integrity frameworks and discuss pathways to rebuild trust and accelerate climate impact.

PLENARY 3 | Removals, reductions & avoidance

As demand for high-integrity carbon credits grows, removals are increasingly perceived as the gold standard, while avoidance credits face heightened scrutiny particularly around additionality. This distinction risks oversimplifying real-world climate solutions and diverting investment from high-impact avoidance projects including forest conservation in countries with rich natural carbon sinks. In this session, experts will unpack integrity best practice and explore how market guidance can support all credible pathways to mitigate climate impacts.
