Queensland’s Honeymah is an ideal representation of our approach to carbon farming: a high integrity native forest regeneration project working alongside an active cattle grazing operation. The project is registered under the Native Forest from Managed Regrowth (NFMR) methodology with the project being established on land that had been comprehensively cleared for agriculture. The project also holds a 100-year permanence period meaning the regrown forest will be protected for at least a century. The total project ACCUs are over 670,000 with 29,000 ACCUs issued as of February 2026.

Pastoral Partners Australia transforms grazing properties using science backed, nature positive practices that boost land productivity, sequester carbon and enhance biodiversity. They manage over 150,000 hectares of land across 12 properties and have invested millions of dollars in additional infrastructure.

The Honeymah project by Pastoral Partners Australia provides a range of community, social and environmental co-benefits including:

  • Local people are employed by Pastoral Partners to manage the property
  • Active, 3,000-head grazing operation continues alongside the carbon project
  • Pastoral Partners sponsors local community activities: schools, tennis club, campdraft, polocrosse events, charity balls
  • Infrastructure improvement (fencing, watering facilities, cattle yards, roads, buildings) sourced from local suppliers and contractors
  • Native forest regeneration re-establishes habitat for a broader range of animal and plant species
  • Biodiversity baseline is being established to systematically track and quantify improvements through an Accounting for Nature methodology
