Net Zero Best Practice Masterclass

About
  • Date

    1 - 30 Sep 2026

  • Location

    Sydney and Melbourne (Dates TBC in September)

The British Standards Institution (BSI) and the Carbon Market Institute (CMI) are partnering to deliver a practical, in‑person masterclass focused on credible Net Zero action.

This half‑day workshop-style masterclass equips participants with the confidence, language, and frameworks to plan and communicate their Net Zero pathways.

Grounded in global standards and Australian market insight, the session focuses on how to communicate and govern carbon and net zero ambitions.

Why attend

Expectations regarding Net Zero commitments are accelerating, and organisations face challenges when operationalising net zero plans, assessing Scope 3 emissions, and aligning these commitments, plans, and claims in practice. Reliable and accurate Net Zero plans based on recognized frameworks can acts as a risk management tool.

Carbon markets are essential in expediting transition. Organisations are expected to demonstrate clear mitigation pathways and credible use of carbon markets as part of their net zero ambitions.

This masterclass helps building clarity and confidence in how Net Zero and carbon markets fit together under current expectations.

What you’ll take away

By participating, you’ll be able to:

  • Explain what Net Zero means in practice and why it matters to your organisation;
  • Navigate key standards and frameworks with greater confidence;
  • Understand when carbon markets still play a legitimate role and when emissions reduction must come first;
  • Assess Net Zero targets and claims through an integrity‑first lens;
  • Contribute more effectively to internal decision‑making and long‑term transition planning.

You’ll also leave with practical tools you can apply immediately; supporting clearer governance, stronger alignment, and more defensible communication.

Join peers to build confidence in Net Zero decision‑making, reduce greenwashing risk, and align commitments with action.
