Georgina Prasad

Georgina Prasad is the Principal Economist at the Clean Energy Regulator and is responsible for monitoring and advising on carbon markets, economic analysis and decarbonisation trends. Prior to joining the Clean Energy Regulator, Georgina spent over a decade at the Commonwealth Treasury leading on key economic policies and programs including foreign investment reforms, COVID stimulus measures, tax reform, industry assistance and Commonwealth-state economic policy issues.  She oversaw recent major reforms to Australia’s foreign investment framework and advised the Government on foreign investment issues relating to Australia’s national interests, national security and free trade. Georgina has worked closely with a range of industries to develop and implement investment subsidies and understand market dynamics. She is an experienced economist, trusted policy advisor to Government and committed to advancing Australia’s economic interests.
