CMI’s annual Australasian Emissions Reduction (AER) Summit is Australia’s premier climate and business event. For a decade, the summit has been an important forum for discussion on climate and regional realities and investment required for a ‘just’ and inclusive transition to a net zero economy.

The fully hybrid Summit was held at the ICC in Sydney across September 14 & 15, 2023, and provided a key platform for CMI’s mission, which is to accelerate the use of market-based solutions and support best practice in decarbonisation to limit warming to 1.5C. The CMI independently developed the Summit program with the aim of driving ambition, knowledge exchange, commercial interaction, capacity-building and peer-to-peer networking.

The 10th Summit was centered around the theme of reform, repair and race for 1.5°C. You can explore these themes further below in our Summit Partner Content section, lanyards, and in our CEO John Connor’s opening address here.

About this year's lanyards

This year, CMI engaged the services of Yirra Miya, First Nations Creative Agency to design the Summit lanyard artwork. The artwork “Listen to Country” encourages delegates to reflect on their own actions as they align with the Summit’s tagline of Reform, Repair & Race to 1.5C, and consider how they can best contribute to the healing of our planet.

We encourage delegates to converse with each other as they consider these themes, and to take their lanyards home for reuse after the event.

You can read more about the artwork below.
