Jack Hill

  • Research Fellow, School of the Environment, University of Queensland

Jack is a PhD candidate studying on Yaggera and Turrbal Country at the University of Queensland. I am often found in the field, on beautiful Quandamooka Djara (Country) and Yarabindjara (Sea Country).  Jack’s PhD is working to understand the architecture of mangrove trees, and I am particularly excited by the unique structures of mangrove roots. Understanding the function of these woody anchorages across species will support efforts to secure and shelter coastal communities, and their mangroves, in a changing climate. Jack also designs and delivers high school and public engagement workshops for the UQ School of the Environment.
