Mitsui E&P Australia (MEPAU) is the Australian headquarters for Mitsui & Co., Ltd’s energy investments in the region, focussed on establishing a responsible, reliable and sustainable energy supply to meet growing energy demands.
Since MEPAU was founded in 2004, the company has grown to become one of Australia’s largest energy producers. MEPAU has six producing oil and gas assets in Australia and, since purchasing AWE in 2018, MEPAU is Operator of four facilities in the Mid West of Western Australia. The company also has interests in 20 projects that are in various exploration and development stages.

This project was established in 2022 under Schedule 2 of the Plantation Forestry methodology. It entails a conversion of a short rotation plantation to a long rotation. The project covers 1,960 hectares.
