The 2026-27 Safeguard Mechanism Review is now underway, and the decisions it shapes will define Australia’s compliance carbon market for the decade ahead. Drawing on the priorities of CMI’s Safeguard Mechanism Taskforce, the third annual Safeguard Symposium will convene government, industry, finance and policy leaders to examine the reformed mechanism’s performance and the design choices now on the table, from post-2030 baseline decline rates to compliance flexibility, carbon leakage and on-site decarbonisation. The program will be followed by networking drinks.
