Explore UNFCCC and international voluntary carbon market outcomes from COP27 as well as latest developments in Australia’s Safeguard and ACCU reforms.

In our last gathering for 2022 the Carbon Market Institute (CMI) will focus on COP27 outcomes and Australian policy developments. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from, and engage with, our COP delegates and other experts.

In the first panel we’ll explore the achievements from COP27, including progress under Article 6 carbon market governance as well as broader climate finance and momentum and the emerging ecosystem of guidance for voluntary corporate claims and carbon crediting. At COP there is frequent reference to the importance of collaboration between state and non-state actors, particularly regarding flows of capital. The nature of this collaboration is still evolving.

Our second panel will cover Australian developments including the latest from Safeguard mechanism legislation and rule changes as well analysis of issues under consideration for Australia’s carbon crediting framework.

This Symposium is an important opportunity to share information and take stock of a challenging year ahead of a critical period where the realities of reforms will emerge, be negotiated and then acted on!
