CMI plays a significant role in representing Australia’s business interests at the annual United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Conference of the Parties (COP). CMI can apply for delegation passes for COP Week 1 or Week 2, this delegation is open to CMI corporate members only.
We encourage members to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to attend COP29 as part of our delegation. The deadline for submission is COB on 19 July 2024. All EOIs will then be submitted to the UNFCCC secretariat, and we expect to receive a quota of passes by mid-August. After that, we will begin the process of confirming participation based on the number of passes available. This is always oversubscribed, and we do our best to allocate equitably considering past attendances and other contributions.
