Transition Plan Declaration

This form asks new CMI Full Corporate Members, and members up for renewal, who invoke CMI’s Member and Sponsorship Policy, to indicate their publicly available transition plan addresses the five criteria listed in the policy.

Please note, the transition plan may have a different name, be part of a larger document or spread across multiple documents. However, information relied upon needs to be publicly available and address all criteria listed in the CMI Member and Sponsorship Policy.

For large corporations (>AUD$5,000,000 per annum) and/or carbon-intensive organisations (>100,000tCO2e per annum) whose transition plans do not meet the criteria, the CMI Associate Membership category and associated services is available.

  • In applying for CMI membership in the Full member category, my organisation represents and warrants that:

    1. It has a publicly available climate transition plan in place (Transition Plan).

    2. It has undertaken a genuine self-assessment of its Transition Plan in accordance with the CMI Member and Sponsorship Policy (Policy).

    3. The results of that self-assessment confirm that the company meets all the requirements for a Full membership category as set out in the Policy and this has been approved by senior management.

    4. It will notify CMI of any change to its Transition Plan that has an impact on its self-assessment against the Full membership criteria in the Policy.

  • And acknowledges that:

    5. This Declaration has been made by a senior representative of the company, with the relevant authority to bind the company.

    6. This Declaration may be relied upon by CMI as evidence that, as far as CMI is aware, the Transition Plan complies with the Policy. CMI will not be responsible in any way for the accuracy or reliability of the company’s Transition Plan.

    7. Notwithstanding this Declaration, CMI may change the Company’s membership tier, as provided under CMI’s Constitution.
