CMI Chief outlines Australia’s role in “Road to Paris” Panel

Last week CMI’s Chief Executive Peter Castellas spoke at a ‘Road to Paris’ climate change Expert Panel event hosted by national law firm, Allens.

GrantIn the session, Allens Head of Climate Change Grant Anderson addressed the audience, then facilitated the panel, which included:

Peter Castellas, CEO, Carbon Market Institute: Peter, who is attending COP21, discussed Australia’s policy focus and shared his insights into the implications of a Paris Agreement on Australian Business;

Fergus Green, Policy Analyst and Research Advisor on Climate Change and the Environment, London School of Economics: Fergus explored the international and economic outlook for climate change and what a potential Agreement might look like; and

Emily Gerrard, Senior Associate, Allens: Emily spoke about the legal issues and ramifications of emissions targets and Australia’s policy goals heading to Paris.

The Panel discussion gave attendees a deep insight into the state of play, and what can be expected in the coming months. The Carbon Market Institute looks forward to attending the COP21 Paris Climate Summit and being part of the transition towards a low-carbon global economy.
