Emissions Reduction Fund Sessions

CMI’s membership encompasses the majority of the ERF market and over $800 million in contracts has been awarded to CMI members in ERF auction one and two. The Institute assists companies in identifying opportunities through the ERF to access funding for projects which lower emissions, create employment, implement new technologies and assist in reducing Australia’s carbon footprint.

CMI continues to support its member organisations with knowledge sharing and commercial interaction, engaging industry and regulators to ensure strong uptake of carbon abatement projects nationally, and that Australia takes a confident stride towards its emissions reduction targets. To this end the Institute has regularly been engaged by the Department of Environment to deliver a series of information sessions to generate awareness of the Emissions Reduction Fund (ERF), and provide information to potential project proponents on opportunities available to participate in the Fund.

Below are the most recent presentations from CMI’s national workshops.

February 2016: Energy & Fuel Efficiency Workshop Series

As part of CMI’s central market development role, the Institute facilitated a series of ERF workshops in late February, focused on the Energy Efficiency & Fuel Efficiency methods. The workshops were run in conjunction with the Clean Energy Regulator, Department of the Environment, AusIndustry and the Clean Energy Finance Corporation and featured presentations from Government agencies and service providers, followed by panel discussions. Sessions took place in Townsville, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth and attracted over 200 attendees nationally.

The energy efficiency ERF workshops showcased the opportunities under the Erf for industry through energy and fuel efficiency projects and provided feedback on policy frameworks and developments. These workshops build on the previous three series of national market education and promotional workshops in 2015 which were attended by over 1,700 industry representatives.
